The Grand Giru
Boarding at the foot of the Citadel of Calvi, for a relaxing day full of emotions.
You will catch sight of the Revellata lighthouse, as well as the village of Galeria located at the entrance to the Scandola Nature Reserve, a terrestrial and maritime reserve classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These volcanic rocks with flamboyant colors are full of secrets, harboring many endemic species such as Armeria Soleirolii. The Scandola Nature Reserve offers rare natural riches. Endangered species have found refuge there, such as the osprey, also known as the fishing eagle.
I will take you to discover the almost peninsula of Capo Rosso, with a swimming stop at the foot of the Genoese tower of Turghiu perched on a cliff of pink granite nearly 330m high, one of the highest in Europe.
Lunch break (1h30) will take place in Girolata, a small fishing village dominated by a Genoese fort, accessible only by a footpath called 'the postman's path' or by sea. You can have lunch in one of the village restaurants (reservation recommended) or have a picnic.
During the day, cold drinks will be offered, meals are not included in the price.
